More New Labour Sleaze - PAISLEY councillor Tommy Williams.

Not a day go's by without some member of the New Labour party being exposed for something, be that on a national or local level. So here is a sleaze story from Scottish New Labour showing that its not just their politicians taking dubious donations but even the coucillors are lying, money grasping and morally corrupt to the core.

PAISLEY councillor Tommy Williams faces being kicked out of the Labour Party after he was sacked from his social work job amid claims of financial irregularities.

The well-known Paisley North West representative has been dismissed from Glasgow City Council and reported to Strathclyde Police.

Yesterday morning, at his home in Barshaw, Councillor Williams told the Paisley Daily Express: “I hope to be able to speak about this in the fullness of time. But I can’t speak at the moment.”

Mr Williams has been booted out of his job as a community support worker.

And an internal investigation is thought to have centred on allegations that his time sheets had shown him to be at work when he was actually somewhere else.

It is understood that another worker sacked in connection with the claims is Mr Williams’ line manager, who is also believed to live in Paisley.

The news comes as another blow to beleaguered Labour leader Wendy Alexander who is herself in the middle of a scandal over an illegal £950 donation which was made to her leadership campaign.

At the time of her election Mr Williams was the Paisley North constituency chairman and worked closely with the Labour leader. He no longer holds the position.

A spokeswoman for Glasgow City Council said: “We can confirm two members of staff were dismissed following an internal investigation into allegations of financial irregularities.

“This matter has been referred to Strathclyde Police.”

There is no indication of how many hours’ worth of work or how much wages – if any – are involved.

But a Strathclyde Police spokesman said: “I can confirm that we have received a complaint concerning alleged financial irregularities and inquiries are ongoing.”

The allegations surrounding Mr Williams come in the wake of scandal over an illegal £950 donation which was made to Paisley North MSP Wendy Alexander’s summer leadership campaign.

There were calls for her resignation last week after it emerged that Channel Islands-based businessman Paul Green made the donation.

Strict rules were breached because, as someone who is not on the UK electoral register, Mr Green is not allowed to contribute to political parties.

Mr Williams worked alongside Ms Alexander during her successful campaign to become Labour’s first female Scottish Leader.

Johnstone South, Elderslie and Howwood Councillor, Iain McMillan, who is the Labour Group Leader on Renfrewshire Council, refused to comment directly on Mr Williams’ situation.

He said: “It is in the hands of the Labour Party at national level at the moment, and the party are dealing with it.”

In recent months Councillor Williams has called for Paisley University’s name not to be changed to the University of the West of Scotland.

He has also asked Renfrewshire Council to have a rethink on closing the Apex Centre in Ferguslie Park along with Morton Nursery School in Linwood and the nursery class at St Fergus’ Primary.

A spokesman for the Labour party at national level confirmed Mr Williams “could face suspension from the party”.

Paisley North West Councillor Terry Kelly, who is a close friend of Mr Williams, refused to comment when approached. - More on him in a bit...

Mr Williams is still entitled to attend council meetings and represent his constituents.

He will only stop being a councillor if he gets a criminal conviction, the Standards Commission bars him from office or he resigns.

Renfrewshire Council Leader Derek Mackay said: “I cannot comment on details given that Glasgow City Council have said they have referred the issue to Strathclyde Police.

“But clearly it is very serious for any councillor to have been dismissed from their employment on these grounds.”

First off some stuff related to Wendy Alexander, it appears is also Lying her fat arse off and who claims that there was no intentional wrongdoing. Oh and her former adviser Matthew Marr made the mistake of referring to Alex Salmond as a cunt an he had to resign.

So one councillor sacked, one in a sleazy donations scandal and here is some background on the other mentioned in the article a certain Terry Kerry.

Ok so where oh where to start? How about Councillor Terry & the standards board, where the councillor was publicly rapped across the knuckles. Oh and a fine fisking of Terry(with links can be found here) From the ever brilliant Rotty Pup. And some time back their were tales of expenses being fiddled by the members of the council.

Here is a light hearted jape at Councillor Terry from C4 of Conservative Mind. Oh and a bit I did on how Terry hates Isreal and the Jews. Lastly some more on his Israel hating & anti-semitic attitude.

Any leftist getting paid to be a community support worker or to do social work or any work is in itself a financial irregularity.

Who says leftist ideology doesn't pay.

Another bit of Scottish Labour sleaze.

To quote an article from the Scotsman

http://news.scotsman.com/scotland.cfm?id=1944512007

A SENIOR Labour Party official who was sacked from his council job was later re-instated - by an appeal panel made up largely of Labour councillors.

Ronald McLuckie was dismissed as a tradesman with Midlothian Council amid claims he had been caught working on his house in Mayfield when he should have been carrying out council duties.

The Midlothian Labour Party chairman immediately launched an appeal to have the decision reversed.

However, were it not for two Labour councillors voting in Mr McLuckie's favour, his appeal would not have been successful. Now the area's SNP group says those two councillors - Jackie Aitchison and Alex Bennett - should have declared an interest and abstained from voting, just like four of their colleagues.
