"A Labour MP used almost £500,000 of taxpayers' money over six years to help run an office from his home which was staffed by his wife.David trousered some £129,653 in "expenses" on top of his wages for the year 2006/2007. He has also voted to protect MP's from freedom of information here
David Marshall, 67, who has quit to spark the Glasgow East by-election on July 24, used the expenses to pay for a constituency office and staff.
But Mr Marshall's office was in his semi-detached Glasgow home and he employed his wife Tina as his secretary. It is also believed he paid his daughter Christina to work from his home from the same pool of money.
A Commons spokesman said MPs can use their home as an office but only claim for additional costs like 'extra phone lines, heating and lighting'."

When we have cases of MP's acting like this I am sure that even the Rt Hon.Tom Harris MP, who I have declared my cunt of the year would agree that Mr Marshall is wrong(well maybe not as they are both Labour)
Tom declared despite the House price crash, recession and fiscal woes hitting this nation that 'our citizens have never been so wealthy', well not all of them Tom just the ones who can leap aboard the gravy train at the House of Commons.
Tom Harris is still my cunt of the year and David Marshall is still a sleazy, shifty, duplicitous thieving fucker who in any and I mean any other profession would have had his collar felt by the police.
**Update: Maybe on the sort of money that David Marshall is on I could refer to him as a "toff", or is that a phrase that is owned by the New Labour class warriors?
Mind I could always call him a classic "champagne socialist" of the old school.

On the subject of this Glasgow East by-election, something stinks!!
At first I thought that the George Ryan fiasco, was no more than another nail in the coffin of this New Labour project - but in retrospect, and through surfing their blogsphere I now disagree.
I shall quote New Labour spin-doctor - Lorraine Davidson, and her words:
"Defeat in the Glasgow East by-election will spell the end for the Prime Minister".
And then George Ryan goes and does this???????
Seems even those most loyal to El Gordo, now concede that the man is no more than a embarrassing liability, and with their own necks in mind, this seems to be the course of action that our Socialist brothers look set to take.....
Firstly......
Lose Glasgow East - Then lose Gordon Brown.
Appoint a successor, and in the preceding "Honeymoon period" with the electorate - Call a snap General Election, and attempt to manipulate democracy afore the public wise-up and realise that the "New leader" is as vile as the old....
