New Labour stats - Ministry of Justice making it up as they go along.

Ministry of Justice a total fucking shambles...
Ministers were last night caught up in an embarrassing new row over crime figures.

The Ministry of Justice was forced to withdraw a set of already delayed sentencing statistics because of errors.

They contained a series of mistakes over how many criminals were being sent to jail, rather than escaping with a fine or community punishment.

For some crimes, the figures showed the number being jailed had fallen as low as 10 per cent, when in fact it had remained steady at around 40 per cent.

Shadow justice secretary Dominic Grieve said: 'This is yet another shambles - the Government literally don't know who they're locking up, and who are walking free from court.

'Ministers should spend more time giving the public accurate and reliable information - and less time fiddling figures and spinning statistics.'

A Ministry of Justice spokesman said the mistake related to 'one minor labelling error'. He said: 'It is completely wrong to suggest that the Government does not have control over these statistics.'

**Which is New Labour speak for "We are making it up as we go along and have no idea what the hell we are doing"

It is the latest controversy over the publication of statistics. The Home Office was rebuked by the official statistics watchdog after the publication of 'premature' figures on knife crime.

And Immigration Minister Phil Woolas became involved in a spat with the Office of National Statistics when it published figures showing that - while the number of British workers was falling - the foreign workforce was increasing.

**For higher crime, soft sentencing, police tied up with paperwork, petty regulations and on the spot fines enforced by gloried dog shit inspectors PCSO's(Police Community Support Officers) whilst the dubious crime figures claim we are living in a crime free paradise then vote Labour.

That's the problem for liers, they constantly have to check which lies match the earlier ones, it leads to confusion like this.
