Three Labour MPs being investigated for expenses fraud are arguing that they should not be prosecuted because their suspect claims are covered by parliamentary privilege.
The MPs have hired legal experts to assert that the 1689 Bill of Rights protects them from prosecution.
The lawyers are understood to have sent detailed submissions to police and prosecutors which contend that the House of Commons rule book on expenses is “privileged” and cannot be subject to scrutiny by the courts.
The legal manoeuvre raises the prospect of the case against the MPs being thrown out before it reaches trial or being bogged down for months in legal argument. So they steal money, our money that we pay them - to do a rather piss poor job in my view -and then they claim that despite being caught stealing at work they will not resign but will declare themselves immune from the very legal system that they expect us to abide by.
I wonder if they would expect the same to happen to someone who was for example caught fiddling benefits, stole from the company that employed them or is it just a case of double standards and they demand to be treated better than us proles and plebs?
So who are these MP's?
Two members, Elliot Morley and David Chaytor, are being investigated by the Metropolitan police over allegations that they received taxpayers’ money for non-existent mortgages on second homes.
Chaytor is also alleged to have paid allowance money to his daughter, who used a different surname.
The third MP facing prosecution, Jim Devine, is alleged to have submitted a claim for £2,157 for rewiring his London flat using a receipt bearing a bogus Vat number. All three are using Steel and Shamash, the Labour party’s solicitors, to represent them, although the costs are being met by the MPs themselves.I don't see very much socialist equality going on here? I wonder if that about the costs is true, or will these MP's claim that back later on as Paul Flynn did when he was sued for libel.
Getting back to these scum, they are just 3 of six fraudsters the police are looking at. Elliot also ran away and hid (or rather waddled away) when the story broke with a sick note. I mocked the lying fat hoon previously here.
Chaytor I mocked here. Same with other gurning window licker Devine. First up we had to listen to his self indulgent pissing and moaning when he was caught stealing, then the details started coming out including his telling of fibs and his dubious travel expenses.

Way to go guys! This is the sort of news the electorate needs to hear just before an election.
Exactly, these 3 will be lucky if anyone other than their families an party workers vote for them.
Too bad there is no way to do the math and break it all down in reverse to the level of taxpayer apportionment and then send them each a bill for return of thieved funds directly back to each individual taxpayer who bills them for it. Enough of that could drum up some publicity against them all too, the entire Liebore Party maybe.
I hope it does take months, Fido, there might be more chance of the fuckers being sent down if Labour are dead and gone. ;-)
