Up to 90% of sickness claimants are fit to work -

This story won't go down well in Merthyr Tydfil.
Huge doubts have been cast over the millions claiming sickness benefit after it emerged that up to nine in ten applicants for the handout are now being turned down.

Tough rules being trialled across the country mean that 65 per cent of new claimants are being told they are fit to work. In some areas the figure is 90 per cent.

One in five in Merthyr has an alledged dodgy ailment of some sort, now either this is the fucking ill place in the UK, hell maybe twinned with Chernobyl? Although it strikes me as it is full of shiftless chancers who see a life on the sick as better than standard benefits an hell it beats working for a living after all that is a mugs game.

TOP 10 INCAPACITY BENEFIT BLACKSPOTS(percentage of working age people claiming)

1. Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan 11.32%
2. Easington, County Durham 11.22%
3. Blaneau Gwent, Monmouthshire 10.63%
4. Rhonnda Cynon Taff, Glamorgan 9.26%
5. Neath, Port Talbot 9.24%
6. Caerphilly, Mid Glamorgan 9.05%
7. Carmarthernshire, South Wales 7.63%
8. Bridgend, Glamorgan 7.62%
9. Sedgefield, County Durham 7.43%
10. Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria 7.31%

Go figure, offer free money for waving an NHS stick about an people will take it. I have mocked the sicknote culture that the BBC covered.

Note that most of these places return a New Labour nodding donkey in order to keep the benefits gravy train chugging along.

The brothers an sisters will be sitting around in the former miners club moaning about how hard things are on sick benefits, before doing their shift as a taxi driver.

But last week the Govt. said anyone would be able to self-diagnose themselves with Pig-Plague and sign themselves off for 14 days rather than infect others at A & E, NHS Direct or at their own GP.
